Click for larger photoBased on an American barn style the livery yard allows a genuine community to develop with the horses under our care. We are currently at 16 boxes all twelve-foot square arranged in two rows of eight facing one another. The boxes themselves were supplied new by Bradmores of Nottingham and the specification includes a corner upright hay manger, a rotating feed bucket and an automatic drinker, some of the boxes have solid partitions while half have a viewing grill so neighbours can have as large a degree of contact as they or their owners wish, in addition half of the boxes have a window onto the yard making them especially suitable for horses on box rest.

In addition to the excellent accommodation, the care the horses receive is of the highest standard with feeding plans developed with the horse’s owners to include supplements and additives as required.

As a livery client the all weather surface is at your disposal through the booking system, the cross-country course is also available for use with the ménage and the hacking resource of the site being fully included in the livery fee. As a function of the large upkeep costs of the cross-country course one training session is included in the livery fee, additional rounds are charged at the reduced rate of £12.00. In addition to the training resources we have an extensive list of competitions in the three principle riding disciplines ensuring that the training is tested in the heat of genuine competition. In a developmental sense therefore the site provides a considerable resource.

We would hate to think that the whole site was a seething cauldron of competition and rigorous development, we are committed to enjoyment and if your idea of an ideal morning’s or afternoon’s enjoyment is a quiet hack through some of this nations finest countryside, we would be happy to show you our favourite routes and some of the quiet unspoilt lanes and tracks that bless this part of the world. For the quiet rider, if you know were you are going the sight of Roe and Fallow Dear is a high probability, for those with sharper eyes the pretty little Munkjack are a lovely sight. The opportunity to enjoy this relatively small area of paradise is principally what persuaded us to take on the challenge of Eland Lodge; we can honestly say that although exhausted, we have not been disappointed.
